[Design Notes] Just some quick updates and release...so I thought
I made the game public today, to officially enter in the jam.
All I need to do was make some minor updates that I gleamed from reading the transcripts of my beta testers. I figured I could do those updates, release, ask for some more beta testers, and then work on my webcomics, or work on the Cryptex Hunt.
I was so, so wrong.
I spent all day on the game. As soon as I'd update, people would find more bugs. And then I'd get more transcripts. And then when I finally made it public, I got more beta testers and more updates!
Now, I'm not complaining, this feedback is GREAT! I love it! I just want to find all the problems that I can with the game. And Chris has been extremely helpful.
For example, earlier versions had a smaller size. I didn't know why it was small (I copy and paste a beginning template from another test game) and Chris told me to turn off the border. He also told me some best practices for the tutorial, which made a lot of sense when I implemented it.
I'm still worried about the amount of text, and the medium to high difficulty of the puzzles, but hopefully I can finesse them more!
